A Simple Blessing - Sweet Sweet Ground

I was happy when there was a simple opportunity for me to chat with 2 of the neighbor’s maid after my tuition and I managed to pray a blessing for each of them. Also, in the evening, I found favor to bless a 23 year-old girl while I was having ice cream and waffles with a friend in Siglap. She was so touched when I told her that we, as a Church, would like to take this month to pray and bless her. She took time to read through the pamphlet and filled up every single detail for me and even wrote a ‘Thanks’ on the remark column. I was fascinated! The ground is indeed so sweet for us! God has been preparing us, Harvesters, to just be obedient to the call to bless as He has already paved the way ahead for us! Praise the Lord!!

Kooky Art, For You?

I had the privilege and joy of meeting the sole proprietor of a business today and I felt so honored that she was keen to have me as part of the team in this business. Please feel free to check out this website : http://www.kookyart.com.sg/news.asp. I am excited and filled with much enthusiasm as I knew that the Lord has opened this door especially for me to enter. It has been a desire of my heart to do something which could be like a hobby, yet I could incorporate it to bless kids and families. And also to use the gifts and talents that the Lord has bestowed to me for His glory.

I am filled with thanksgiving in my heart as I have been seeking the Lord for very clear specific directions and I have been telling the Lord to take me to the marketplace to be a blessing. I believe that this will give me many new platforms to be the Salt and the Light. Also, I believe that I will begin to see miracles springing up in the marketplace.

Just today, I was reading 2 Kings 6 about the story of the axhead that floats and the main purpose for their ‘adventure’ was to go to Jordan to build a place for God’s people. They went to the woods and began to cut down trees and as one of them was cutting the tree, the iron axhead fell into the water. He was worried because it was a borrowed axhead. (The morale of the story – buy your own! Ha!) But a miracle took place when Elisha cut a stick and threw it there and that made the iron axhead float so that the man could lift it up and reach for it. (Isn’t an iron axhead supposed to sink? – IT’S A MIRACLE!!)

Application : When our hearts are set to bless the people or are inclined to the work of the Lord, we can expect miracles to take place even when a ‘careless mistake’ or an unexpected circumstance occurs unintentionally.

I felt that it is like a partnership between my Bridegroom King and us, His Beloved Bride. He wants the very best for us and He has the very best for us – if only we would learn to trust Him altogether!

A Prayer Answering God

We had a briefing regarding our trip to East Timor after church today and Ps challenged us to be seeking the Lord, keeping healthy and resting (especially the drivers) because 80% of the trip would be spent on the road traveling from the East to the West.

I uttered a simple prayer to God on my way home in the lift and answers came almost instantaneous. Still in shock, actually! ☺☺

a) I was afraid of jabs that I had to take in preparation for the trip and

b) That God would provide in whatever way He chose to.

I couldn't believe my ears and eyes when the next thing I knew, I received an SMS from my dear Aunt who asked when I was going on my trip and would like to bless me with a gift and encouraged me to go for whatever jabs necessary.

It's awesome because I knew that more than just the Lord providing financially for me, He also sent intercessors (like her) to be standing in the gap together with me. I was so moved to tears … sob!

God, thank you that you are my faithful and trusted friend whom I can depend on!

Small Things Count

Read a little devotion which I thought spoke to my heart and wanted to share with you ….

Small Things
TGIF Today God Is First, by Os Hillman

Who despises the day of small things? - Zechariah 4:10

Life is filled with a series of small things that can amount to something big. Have you ever considered why the God of the universe came to earth and spent 33 years identifying with mankind through work? Jesus grew up as a carpenter's son and, no doubt, learned the trade from His daily routine of helping His father. For 30 years He worked. When it was time for Him to begin to fulfill His purpose for mankind, He told countless stories of people and their work. He told stories of landowners, farmers, fishermen, tax collectors, and so on. He related to the everyday man because He Himself was one. This is why it was important for Him to have some personal work experience.

Life is filled with daily routines. Every now and then, God takes us to the mountaintop to experience His presence in a dramatic way. This is not the norm. It was not the norm for those in the Bible either. Moses spent 40 years in preparation. Paul spent a great deal of his life working toward the wrong purpose until a dramatic event changed his life. Jacob spent 20 years working for Laban.

God uses work to develop character qualities that He plans to use at the appropriate time. In the small things we develop trustworthiness with God. The day-in and day-out grind of working life molds us and makes us into what God desires. God may still be preparing you for something far greater. For now, however, you are learning the daily lessons of small things.

Pray that we will be faithful with the small things the Lord gives to us daily.

Jokes, Anyone?

Proverbs 17:22 says, a cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Here are a few jokes to lighten our load and brighten our day!!

1) Guitar, for sale. Cheap. No strings attached.

2) Success is relative. The more the successes, the more the relatives.

3) Smoking helps you lose weight … one lung at a time.

I almost rolled over … Haha!!

Power of Blessing

I had an intriguing encounter at the place that I was giving tuition today. A telephone call came through for the Grandpa and his youngest daughter was on the line. She had informed him that she was at the airport making an overseas trip. He passed the call to his wife and immediately after she hung up, both of them said they had to go pray a blessing for her. They decided that they were going to the altar where their Buddha statue was, started lighting a joss stick and chanting prayers for their daughter.

This taught me a valuable lesson – people out in the community are looking for or giving blessings readily. Where is their source of blessing coming from? And if, a pre-believing family could be so responsive in giving a blessing to their child for protection while she went on her trip, what more us, as Christians, when we have a God who is true and living and He desires to bless them? Our lips can be used to be a channel of blessing wherever we go.

Was reading James 3 today and was meditating on how our lips can begin to bring wisdom and understanding to the people around us. What is God's version of wisdom? It is not harboring bitter envy and selfish ambition nor is it boasting or denying the truth. God's heavenly wisdom is :

a) Pure

b) Peace Loving

c) Considerate

d) Submissive

e) Full of Mercy

f) Good Fruit

g) Impartial

h) Sincere

May we pattern after God's wisdom as we go out to share the 100k blessing!

Hooray! God opened up doors for A and I to go to Bishan tonight to share the 100k blessing. It was mind-blowing when we managed to share with 3 persons in Mandarin and prayed a simple blessing for them. (It was really an instructed tongue for me especially for those of you who know I struggle so hard with Mandarin….If God can use me, He can use anyone!! )

The Shunammite Woman's Encounter

Was meditating on 2 Kings 4:8-37 on the story of the Shunammite woman and her encounter with Elisha. It was interesting to note :

About the Shunammite Woman :

A) She honored the Man Of God to a point of even keeping a room for him each time he came by their way. Verse 8-10. Can we go the extra mile for our Spiritual Leaders and for the Man of God in our midst? How do we treat them?

B) She yielded herself to the Man of God when he offered to ask God for a personal request for her.. Verse 11-13 Do we listen and obey our Spiritual Leaders as they are committed to intercede and stand in the gap for us? And when God uses them to speak to us, do we dare believe?

C) She was real and had doubts and fears when she was told that she would have a son the following year but yet she believed. Verse 16-17. Can we trust God completely when a promise is given to us, even in the midst of our uncertainties, fears and unbelief?

D) Her obedience to go through the entire pregnancy was remarkable and she brought the child up and cared for him. Verse 18-20. How do we demonstrate a mother’s love, kindness and tenderness for our children and our families? Do we love and care for them because they are God’s gift to us? Have we taken them for granted?

E) She was a woman of Faith, Courage and Strength because when her son died, she responded with a believing and positive attitude that God would raise him up. Verse 20-21. Can we be strong in times of adversity, testing and challenges?

F) She protected her husband from being stumbled and inconvenienced and just did what needed to be done without ‘bothering’ him. Verse 22. Are your husbands in a place where he is highly esteemed, protected and kept with only ‘good news’ so that his faith would be secure? Are we assuring and can our husbands depend on us to handle the home matters independently?

G) She was a wise and steady woman who handled the matter of her dead son well. Verse 24. Are we faithful, steady and steadfast in the things that we do so that we could glorify God – even if circumstance and situations are unfavorable?

H) She was a persistent & desperate woman of prayer and faith (in her own closet) when she grabbed the feet of Elisha and begged for her son’s life to be returned. Verse 27. Are we persistent in our prayer to cry, wail and knock hard on the doors of heaven (behind closed doors) even when we have not seen results? Do we believe that God can demonstrate signs and wonders in our midst because He desires to bless?

I) She continued to believe even when at the 1st instance Gehazi did not manage to revive the child. Verse 30. Is our faith unwavering and unchanging? Do we believe that God is a Miracle-working God? Can we keep pressing in to pray until we see something happening? A 2nd, 3rd or even 4th time?

J) When Elisha finally revived the boy and returned him to his mother, she was grateful and fell at his feet and bowed to the ground. Verse 37. Do we have a thankful, grateful and magnanimous heart? Do we honor our Spiritual Leaders for their time, effort and kindness when God brings healing, deliverance and blessing in our midst because they are willing vessels?

Our Leadership :

K) The Man of God surrounded himself with an observant servant who knew the need of the Shunammite woman because he knew his Master’s heart. Verse 14 Do we surround ourselves with men/ women of God who know and minister alongside us? We, as leaders, sometimes have blind spots (even Elisha) and may need reminders from our co-laborers. Can we learn humility and grow together in the ministry – unity is strength?

May the Lord grant us the faith, favor and fondness like that of the Shunammite woman!

Persistent Faith and Prayer

I was led to read Luke 18 about the parable of the persistent widow whom Jesus told to His disciples about that they should always pray and not give up.  More and more, as we hear of calamites and perplexities in our midst (and in life), we realize that we really do not have answers to many of these problems. People around us are asking for global or world peace and circumstances around us are getting incredibly complex – which leaders and governmental authorities do not even have answers for. Just prayed for a young girl at Eunos MRT station tonight and she was sharing that she needed world peace and she chose to dress like a guy to dance in some Soka association to forget all her sorrows. Can you imagine the deception, lies and loneliness of the world today?

And in Luke 21, Jesus gives us a clear description of what is to come and what we should be expecting and not be alarmed … False prophets, wars and revolutions, great earthquakes (Japan, Indonesia etc), famines, pestilences in various places (bird flu, dengue fever?) and fearful events that are happening (freak accidents, buses on fire suddenly)? Or severe persecutions, betrayal by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, signs in the sun, moon and stars; On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea? Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world and even the people of God being shaken?

Commodities like gold, stocks and shares etc are not going to save us in these situations. Sadly, there are no answers to life’s problems and minds are going to get more boggled (if there is such an expression..) and hearts are going to fail gravely. Do you know what will keep us?

Only the FAITH and the PRAYER of God’s people will begin to bring us through and help us to ride these waves of adversities. In vs 28. When we begin to see these things taking place, (which we are already beginning to see certain signs), we are to STAND UP and LIFT UP OUR HEADS because our REDEMPTION DRAWS NEAR.

In vs 36 BE ALWAYS ON THE WATCH AND PRAY THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO ESCAPE ALL THAT IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN, AND THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO STAND BEFORE THE SON OF MAN.

I felt that God is bringing us through a process of faith where He is commissioning us to PRAY persistently with great tenacity to press in and seek the face of God in all situations and spend time talking to Him – whether in whispers, wailing, groans, tears for food or even in words that are inexpressible. We need to come to the end of ourselves and cry out desperately for God so that it will be the beginning of God to answer and break down arguments, strongholds, unbelief and fear.

I want to be counted faithful in FAITH and in PRAYER in these Last Days that we are living in!!

A New Season

I was taking time away to be in the presence of God today and felt the Lord say to me that He is giving me a new season and time in my life at this juncture. It is rather significant because I read Song of Solomon 2:10 which says, “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, and come with me. See! The Winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, my beautiful one, come with me.”

I really felt like the Lord confirmed this to me that the season of wilderness, pain and discomfort is over. He is taking me into a new season with Him where I will and am experiencing flowers blooming around me, singing from the depth of my heart, cooing of doves and tremendous JOY. The Lord assured me that I will begin to see the fruits of my labor and the spreading of my ‘garden’ (my life). There will be such a sweet aroma and fragrance that will penetrate out from this garden into the outer most part of the land. Song of Solomon 2:3-4. Also, that I will be like this apple tree, among the forest and the Lord is my Lover and Bridegroom whom I will enjoy fellowship with. I will take such delight to sit in His Shade – of comfort, of care, of love, of protection, of provision and joy. His fruit shall be sweet to my taste. He will take me to the Banqueting Hall – where I will enjoy His presence, His company, His companionship, His Leadership and Lordship over my life. And most of all, His banner over my is Love – He will strengthen me with raisins; refresh me with apples because I am faint for love.

Ps BC’s prophecy to me in Jan 2007 is indeed true … In 2007, you will enter into new pasture with the Lord. Ps 23 – He is the Good shepherd and you will be in green pastures. Wherever God places or plants you, God is blessing you and His favor is upon you – in the pastureland for you. God is going to send people along the way and opportunities along the way that you are not even looking for but they will come knocking on your door and this is of the Lord. Step forth in faith and these doors will be opened for you.”

It was such a delight to again taste and see that the Lord is good! Today, I had another opportunity to witness the blessing of the Lord in the kids that I was giving tuition to and I received a surprising call which caused my heart to be pleasantly elated. I had another business offer to do something which had opportunity for me to explore in the area of kids, art, fun, school etc. I felt the Lord affirming me through His Word and also through Ps BC’s prophecy which came to past. I thank God that He really cares for us His children – He will never abandon us nor leave us even if He allows us to go through valley experiences at some point of time. He is a Faithful and True Father and Friend!

Open Our Eyes, Lord!

Was meditating much on John 20:14 and Luke 24:16 as I was preparing for our Re-Org for 100k this afternoon. The Lord spoke to me about these 2 parallel passages of Scripture where in John 20, Mary Magdalene was at the tomb weeping when Jesus died and was consumed with his death when she found His body missing and wondered who had taken Her Lord, while in Luke 24, the 2 persons were on the way to Emmaus and was talking among themselves about the death of Jesus and was distressed and sad. Both had similar experiences where their hearts were saddened, distressed, and downcast even when, Jesus was literally walking and standing among them. Yet, they did not recognize Him or rather, their eyes were not opened to Him. Can we ask the Lord to open our eyes to see Jesus in our midst?

I felt the Lord give me a personal challenge as we talked about the blessing that we have been doing with our friends, strangers and even our families. That we need to ask and invite the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of our heart to see the heart of Jesus so that we will know and have the compassion for the Lost. It is easy to be discouraged, intimidated, entertain negative thoughts, be experiencing sickness and pain or even be so busy and caught up with our daily routines during this period in the 100k blessing (when we are supposedly to be fixing our heart and mind on reaching our 20 people) but God is steering us to rise up again, believe Him and speak faith into our own spirit man. He wants us to purpose in our heart that He is for us and desires that the Words of our Mouth and the Meditations of our Hearts be Pleasing to Him each day – We can go out and reach the World with a blessing especially when we see their felt needs.

I was so encouraged as I heard the different testimonies of my ladies' sharing that we are committed to reach our target of blessing 20 persons by August. We covenanted to pray for each other daily, love each other and be committed to be in this community together – serving and loving Jesus! What a blessing!! ☺☺

May we be brought to complete unity to let the world know that Jesus sent us and have loved us even as He has loved them…. John 17:23.

Covenant of Peace

Read Isaiah 54:10 Though the mountain be shaken and the hills be removed, yet God’s unfailing love for me will not be shaken, nor His covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on me. What a comfort from our Heavenly Father!

He continues His promises in vs 11-13 .. that He will build us with stones of turquoise (How pretty!) , our foundations with sapphires (Phew! – stable), make our battlements of rubies, our gates of sparkling jewels, and all our walls of precious stones (Woo! – firm). All our sons (or daughters) will be taught by the Lord (Our wonderful Shepherd), and great will be our children’s peace (Amen!).

God's Faithfulness To Me

As I read an email from one of my spiritual daughters, I was filled with tremendous thanksgiving to God for His kindness in my life. I was so touched that I was close to tears and thought it would be decorous to share an excerpt from her note to me to encourage leaders and disciple-makers to press on in the ministry that God has bestowed to us… We will reap what we sow in due season and do not become weary in doing good!

“ … honoring our spiritual parents! To pen a tribute to them to thank them for the special spiritual role they have played in your life.  Am, I really want to thank you for taking care of me since 2002 when I returned from studies. I remember I encountered d lord in august 2001 and my life was changed overnight. yes, overnight. d night d lord spoke, the next day my life was different. … at that time, i already started praying for people with needs. i even had a deep desire to have my own cell group. …. I’m so glad as i was searching for church, it was eventually FCBC, and d G12 vision fitted into the dream I had as it nurtured people to be leaders. Thank you for developing me, for going through with me the last few years, especially spending so much time reading and replying my emails in 2002/3, helping me to work through things i was struggling with…  i remember all these, even if you have forgotten. perhaps countless emails altogether. thank you for loving and nurturing me. “

Be God-Conscious

You know, as I reflect on the mercies of God and the many miracles in my life, I am learning to be more and more GOD-CONSCIOUS i.e. I saw another miracle where my tuition girl was concerned. She did not just speak to me today , but she was bold enough to speak louder to me than usual in her ‘normal’ volume that she would with her family members. I was very pleased that she was beginning to open up and feel comfortable being herself in my presence. She even brought her little piglet with a milk bottle to show to me so that we could write a story for her ‘Show & Tell’ time next week. I felt so privileged that I was able to share in this simple joy of God’s miracle – seeing Him perform a marvelous act right before my eyes, in our community.

The way the Lord has been showing Himself to me so real through this little girl makes me want to cry (with overwhelming love & joy). I just experienced the word of God in Isaiah 50:4-10 …. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught (as a disciple – NASB). The Sovereign Lord has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back …. Because The Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced… Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of his servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on His God.

I had a vivid dream last night and was sharing it with Sally, one of my spiritual daughters as we met for tea this afternoon. We talked about taking steps to wait in the presence of the Lord and waiting in submission to His Lordship and direction, even about our dreams. We both agreed that God has to teach us to WAIT in order to build our CHARACTER and develop COMMUNION with Him. I felt this dream was of the Lord because I could still remember it till now. (Usually, I would not!)

My Dream : It was about someone (who had something against me – an ‘enemy’?) who handed me an envelope and had scribbles written on the outside of the envelope. The scribbles were so clear and even the handwriting was legible although it was written all over the place. On it, there were even pointers about the content of the envelope. I opened the envelope, still in my dream, and discovered a yellow cheque in it. I could not see the amount on the cheque but I saw many pieces of paper related to counseling instructions or methods that were printed on it. I was baffled when I awoke because I knew that the Lord was speaking something rather significant to me about my time of waiting during this season.

My Instructed Tongue

Read Isaiah 50:4 and it says .. The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.

A friend (one of my 100k contacts) called me this morning and was rather disturbed and upset. She was sharing with me about being ostracized by neighbors in her estate as a result of her family's financial situation. It's rather sad because we can be judged based on what we have or don't.  We met up for breakfast and chatted.

Thank God that we can receive an instructed tongue from the Lord – to encourage, build up, edify, comfort, reassure, inspire and cheer up.

(Sometimes, we can be so caught up with doing our own things that we forget that we can be a blessing to someone today …)

May I incline my ears to hear the still small voice of the Lord when He speaks! Amen.

Lifestyle of Blessing

I was so delighted that I was able to be with the gals at Eunos MRT Station tonight to share 100K blessing. I had an opportunity to speak to a shop owner who sells pretty bags. Her name is Lena and she is from City Harvest Church. (You should patronize her shop when you get there sometime) When we walked by to want to pray a blessing over her shop, she was actually in a conversation with someone else inviting them to church. She commented that we should have walked in to join her in the conversation. That was sweet!

Then I stopped another young lady Jenny and had an opportunity to pray a blessing for her. When I told her that we were committed to pray for her daily, she was so touched and commented, “Oh! Really! Thank You!”. She even asked where our church was. I gave her the other slip of the 100k pamphlet and offered to accompany her to church if she was interested. Wow! How fruitful! I wished I could do this daily – I think I would like to make it my daily lifestyle to share a blessing with someone.

In fact, I was feeling rather restless today and was telling the Lord that times of waiting are rather difficult and challenging – whether in the area of our jobs, our family's salvation, ministry needs, our own needs etc. But I was reminded of Ps Melvyn’s message on Sunday that we are to WAIT in SUBMISSION to God. Waiting can be such a chore and it can take such a toil on our spirits. But today, I made a choice that my times of waiting would be on the Lord - Isa 40:31 was the verse I meditated. They who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Teach me, Lord to wait!

We Are Ministers

16 July

I took out my book on ‘Anointed for Business’ to re-read it. And I am happy to be reminded that we Christians are ministers – a priesthood of all believers. That is the reason why we can bring Church everywhere we go as long as we replicate the model presented for us in Acts 2:42, “ They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

We are called to play a vital role in the establishment of God’s kingdom on Earth. We want to see greater transformation and the Great Commission to be fulfilled in our generation. I went out with C & L to Parkway and am glad that I managed to share the 100k blessings with 2 ladies. It was quite awesome when they were so open and receptive.

I meditated on this verse this morning … Ecc 11:5-6 As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. Sow your seed (BLESSING) in the morning and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.

Today I was so pleased to see my little tuition girl (the one with Selective Mutism), ZX smile when I gave her a little pig for her to hang on her school bag. She was beaming with joy from ear to ear when I told her that the pig would remind her to SMILE and SPEAK. Her mummy sent me a sms in the evening to thank me …”Thank you so much for the little pig. ZX loves it so much. She showed it to me the minute I got home. It sure did make her smile.” This was my blessing to this family because I want to demonstrate God’s kindness and love to them in a tangible way – in prayer and in deed.

Honor Our Parents

15 July

I had a little fascinating encounter with my niece and nephew when they made a telephone call to me from their dad's car this afternoon. They were trying to figure out why I was still single (at 35) and how my children would look like as they were evaluating our family tree. They were very pleased and proud to know that their Great-Grandma (Cho Cho) gave birth to their Grandma (Mama), their Grandma gave birth to their Parents (Daddy and Mummy) and me (Kor Kor), and their Parents had them (Andrew and Andrea) but what about me, their Aunt who still remains single? They innocently asked when I was going to get married and how my kids would look like and were waiting in eager anticipation for 'good news' from me ☺. It was amusing because it's like the American Show – 'Kids Ask The Darnest Things' and I found myself being caught tongue-tied. Actually, I am rather curious too! … Haha!!

On that same note, coincidentally, today's text in the Love Singapore booklet talked about Honoring Our Parents. I am so pleased and thankful to God for placing me in this special family. I want to take this opportunity to really honor my father, who has gone home to be with the Lord some 20 years now (when I was 16 years old). He taught me many precious lessons about life and about loving the family, especially my mother. He has left behind wonderful memories for me. I thank God for my Mother and Grandma, who has brought me up in such a safe and protected environment and given me all the love, care, nurture and motivation that I needed. I really am what I am today because of their labors of love, encouragement and their generous giving of themselves to me. I am grateful to them and pray that the Lord will continue to bless them with good health, success, long-life and may they have many fruitful years of serving Him. Exodus 20:12 Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

And as we do the 100K blessing in this season, let's remember that the salvation of our families are of utmost importance. Let's continue to pray for each one of them!

May the Lord cause us not to just honor our physical family, but also our spiritual family – that as we honor, obey and submit to our spiritual authorities, we will also receive the blessing of longevity and enriching relationships with others.

Rewards Anyone?

13 July

Was meditating on Ps 62 today to trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge. .. that God is strong and that He is loving. Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done.. verse 12.

Do you think we will get a reward for doing 100k blessing? I am quite certain we will because God’s word says that God will reward each person according to what we have done. Yes, God honors the labor of our hands and desires that we serve Him even in whatever we do. Perhaps, we are feeling the pressure and strain of work cum trying to do 100k but it’s a gentle reminder for us to be assured of God’s protection, covering and love during this time. Also, to learn to find rest in our soul because our Hope comes from Him; He alone is our Rock, our Salvation, our Fortress and we will not be shaken.

A Golden Mouth Miracle

12 July

You know, I had such a pleasant surprise today when I went for tuition. The P1 girl whom I mentioned in my last weeks’ blog (who has Selective Mutism) has finally opened her golden mouth to speak to me. She could even tell me about her cousin and her favorite toys. Guess what her favorite toys are?? They are 7 little stuffed pigs … how appropriate because I love little pigs too!! Does it give you a clue why my email address is Piggyam?

I was so thrilled that I sms to her mum and this was her reply …”Wow! That’s fantastic! It’s really a pleasant surprise. She usually takes a very long time to get used to a person. She must feel very comfortable with you to tell you about her pigs. Thanks so much for helping her to open up. And if she can giggle with you, it means she likes you. That’s good!” I knew deep in my heart that this was really the favor of God. I could not have done this at all!

In fact, in the last week, I have been fervently praying for her and asking the Lord to miraculously heal every anxiety and break every mute spirit within this child. I sensed a difference when I went this morning and I somehow knew that the Lord had opened her mouth and given that freedom of speech. To me, this was a real power encounter because the home has a very big altar and statues of Buddha all over but I believe that we can conquer all of this with Christ’ love. The Lord was teaching me to take up the spiritual authority over our neighborhood and to ‘pastor’ our city as we thread the ground - like in Luke 10:19 ..I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy, nothing will harm you.

God really has a wonderful plan for this child and I want to release a greater amount of healing, confidence and restoration over this child. I want to believe that these are Days of Revival and that the parents will come and ask me how their child was healed and how they can receive salvation in Jesus Christ. Zech 8:23 ..In those days.. they will take hold of the hem of your garment and say, “Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.” I am very excited and want to claim this blessing, healing and salvation over this entire household.

Today’s text in the booklet was appropriate too. There is a declaration to thank the Lord for every person alive in Singapore and that each person matters. Every life is a gift from God and they are infinitely precious. Every one is a potential follower of Jesus, a fisher of men and a star witness for Christ. Amen!!

Establish God's Favor

11 July

I caught sight of this verse today and would like to meditate much on it and pray through it - Ps 90:17. May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us – yes, establish the work of our hands. God really cares for all that we do! May He establish our labor of love to Him and serve Him wholeheartedly as we continue to do the 100k blessing.

Miracles

10 July

I experienced 4 miracles today. I felt so overwhelmed by the goodness of God that I could hardly contain my JOY!!

1) My secondary school friends called me out today for breakfast and bought me breakfast. I had a chance to share with them all the wonderful testimonies that God has been doing in my life and I used the Walkathon card as a topic for conversation and later prayed a blessing for them through SMS. It was so thrilling because God gave me 2 persons to bless today!

2) I had an amazing "business" proposal today that coincided with what I had kind-of planned but would like to take time to seek the Lord about it. I felt the Lord's favor with me …. ☺

3) I had a secret prayer in my heart and wished that I could make a trip to East Timor. Some 4 weeks ago, when Ps BC casually informed me that she was making a trip there in August, I had wanted to go on some mission trip but was trusting that God would provide for me financially. This morning, Ps C called me to inform me that an anonymous angel who wants to bless me and would like the team to be blessed with a driver and helper is sponsoring me $1500 for the trip to East Timor. I nearly fell off my chair when I heard it because God heard the secret utterances of my heart. I am eternally grateful to his blessed angel for being obedient to God and for loving me so much as to bless me with this secret desire. Thank you, dear angel!!

4) And I am going to be 'grandmama' again….. one of my spiritual daughters is expecting!! It's a miracle! And I am so happy for her!! Indeed God loves us so much and there is nothing we can do about it, quotes Ps Ed.

Ps 37:25 … I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread.

Blessings - Start Of 100K (Finally!)

9 July

I read Ps 1, Ps 19 and Ps 119 today and meditated much on how to delight in the law of the Lord and how to make application on His Word. I desire to be like a tree firmly planted by streams of living water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

We were so encouraged today that God gave us many opportunities to bless at least 1 person today. Some of my ladies had more than 1 persons to bless ….. how envious I was! Hee! ☺ I was looking out for someone to bless this morning and was happy to be able to bless my tuition kids and the family. Also, when I came back, I had an opportunity to bless my sick pre-believing cousin who went to see a doctor and was resting at my house. I am claiming complete healing for her so that in her time of rest these 3 days, God will speak and minister to her.

Indeed the spiritual climate of our nation is changing … We shall begin to see the hand of God move miraculously as we rise up to bless the people around us!

Caring And Sharing

8 July

I thought about what Ps Ed shared in his session about systemic poverty and I completely agree … Sharing makes wealth the MOST Enjoyable. And just to add what a newspaper articles recently wrote about this lady who lived to 110 years old (see below) …. I think we could learn something about sharing. Does it have something to do with long life? Ha!

SINGAPORE: Centenarian Teresa Hsu, who has seen two World Wars and lived in two centuries, has turned 110 years old and her birthday was celebrated in a grand way with 280 of those who care for her. Raffles Institution was the venue for the party attended by both the young and the old. Some 20 student volunteers who are working with the Heart-to-Heart Voluntary Welfare Organization – which Madam Hsu is part of – had organized the special party. After the birthday song was sung in both English and Mandarin, the grand old dame, who showed that she had not lost her humor, wished that everyone present would live to 2,000 years old. She said: "I share with my brothers and sisters who don't have the basic needs. If they are hungry, I share my bowl of rice. I am very happy I choose to do it."

“Instruct the rich to do good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.” 1 Tim 5:18-19

Sow a thought : Ps Ed mentioned that the rich and the poor must minister together because there is something they can learn from each other. The rich have wealth to offer while the poor has spiritual insight and faith. How apt!

Birth Of A New Dream

7 July

I came back from the Ed Silvoso Conference with a new dream when I sat on Friday night and the Holy Spirit began to keep flashing this equation in my mind as Ps Ed was teaching….

House = Home + Marketplace

I was rather excited as the Lord laid on my heart a business plan (it was not by coincidence that I've got a Bachelor in Business Administration degree??) which I will begin to pray through and look at integrating my family, my passions and desires and most of all to be able to bring in a substantial amount of income to plough back into the Kingdom of God. And the most thrilling part of this was – that my mother could participate actively with me in this whole project. It would deepen the good relationship that we already have and bring God's love to be made manifest and visible in our midst. (Now's to pray that God would bring conviction to mum and stir her heart… ☺☺)

"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost" Luke 19:10.

God, I want to be your willing vessel to bring blessing, healing and miracles as we are commissioned to the call of being a Marketplace Minister

Acsah's Anointing

6 July

I had a little insight of the book of Judges when I read Judges 1 about Acsah, Caleb’s daughter asking her father for special requests. Acsah’s name meant ADORNMENT and her life is a walk of praise, encouragement, beauty, intercession and faith. She could rise up to encourage her husband and urged him to ask her father for a blessing or an inheritance. Judges 1:14. She stirred up a faith and courage in him and believed in him to believe God. She also had a keen sense of discernment because the land that she was going to inherit was the South land and the South land is one that is barren. She rose up as a woman of faith and was a discerning woman to cry out for a blessing when all she could see was the barren land ahead.

Acsah is an example of a woman of God – who is powerful and sees her role as an intercessor. She could ask for anything and the father would give to her. Her dream came through when God gave her a godly and anointed man she was married to who loves God and wanted to serve God and he was a man of faith. More than that, her father Caleb, gave her more than she had asked or imagined. He did not just give her the South lands but the upper and lower springs as well. He is indeed a loving and generous father.

This story is a type of God the Father, wanting us to come to Him in intercession to cry out to Him in our times of wilderness and fear. He wants to pour out such an extensive blessing to us that our bellies would be flowing with springs of living water. As we look forward to the 100k blessing, God wants us to cry out to him because He is the BLESSER. He will enable us to go out in the power of the Holy Spirit to be a blessing to the people around us. God is our Resource and like Acsah, in any given opportunity, we can use our mouths to cry out to God for a blessing.

Even when we look ahead in the coming 100k campaign and may not have a clear understanding of the tasks ahead of us, just like the South land that is arid and dry, we know that we can run to God because His Word is faithful, true and unchanging. He is a God who is the same yesterday, today and forever.

As I remembered yesterday’s reading in the prayer booklet about foolishness, God is also allowing us to learn from Acsah to ask God for a spirit of discernment during this 100k campaign that we will not be foolish in our words and ways. Instead, we will ask God for ears to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking to us clearly so that in all that we do, we will delight the heart of God.

Let’s receive the Acsah’s anointing today!

Selective Mutism

5 July

I had a very interesting encounter with one of my tuition kids today. She is P1 and suffers from Selective Mutism (SM). This is a childhood anxiety disorder where a child cannot speak in select settings, such as in school, despite their ability to speak normally in situations where they are comfortable, such as at home. I was praying much for her before I went today (as it was my first tuition lesson with her). Amazingly, she responded so well to me, made effort to communicate through writing with me and maintained lots of eye contact too. She was even smiling and giggling when I read a story to her. Although she did not speak much, she had visible lip movements and was trying to articulate what she wanted to say.

The Lord spoke to me after my tuition with this girl and told me that many of us, especially in our preparation for 100k, also suffer from selective mutism (SM). We begin to be anxious and fearful about sharing our faith or even praying a blessing. We could be gripped with so much of fear that we stand motionless when confronted with specific social settings. This can be heart wrenching because we could be chatting so much with our colleagues and friends but when it comes to the things of God, we literally freeze and become expressionless, unemotional and be socially isolated. Want to know how to help a SM ‘child’??

Have a caring and understanding teacher/ coach – The Lord spoke to me and said need to be just like that! We need to be caring and understanding coaches to our people. They need our love and motivation to nurture them and stand with them during this time. We need to coax them, give them practical handles and even be there for them to ease any form of discomfort and fear. Allowing them to communicate non-verbally will be a means of gaining a sense of comfort and stability. In due time, they will become pro-active, relaxed and will RISE UP!!

A Quiet Dissatisfaction

4 July

I was struggling today about my walk with the Lord in the area of giving as there was a quiet dissatisfaction in my spirit. And I cried when I picked up my half-read book – Driven by Eternity because the Lord began to speak again to me that when we serve, do we do those things to gain recognition and acceptance? When we stand before the Lord on Judgment Day, what would the Lord say to us? Would it be … “When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

What are our intentions and motives for giving to the kingdom of God and to those in need? This is a sober thought as we prepare our hearts for the 100k. Do we end up giving out of guilt or compulsion rather than out of compassion and love? The story of the widow who put her 2 mites into the offering box gave more than all the others because the others had spare of their richest, but as for her – poor as she was, gave all she had to live on.

Do I dare to trust the Lord to give all that I have to live on, my very all, to sow into the kingdom of God and to those in need? I want to trust the Lord that He will multiply my 5 loaves and 2 fish for the extension and expansion of His kingdom.

Come And Bow Down

4 July

Was meditating on Ps 95 and indeed it is true, just like what the prayer booklet said that our hearts do not become stones overnight ….therefore, when we come into the presence of the Lord often enough, humbling ourselves and bowing down in awe, reverence and fear of God, we will allow the Lord to check our hearts and change whatever wrong attitudes and responses that we may have – of ourselves and others.

Good Soil

3 July

A good and timely reminder that God wants us to be good soil for Him so that we will hear the Word of God and not allow the devil to steal it from us. Also, we want to receive the Word with joy and use it to build deep strong roots so that we will believe for a long time and when we are tested, to be Faithful, Steady and Sure! Important to use the Word of God as a mirror to check if we are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures because we do not want hindrances and obstacles to deter us to grow and mature in God and His Word. My prayer and desire is to be the good soil - which stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the Word, retains it, and by persevering produces a crop.

As we prepare for 100k blessing, God wants us to be the good soil so that we can be fruitful and multiply ourselves. I felt an urge to pray much for my ladies and their spouses not to be caught in life’s worries especially financial burdens that would weigh them down and not be able to serve the Lord. The Lord brought to my mind Luke 1:17 and Mal 3 about the fathers rising up in the Sprit and power of Elijah to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous – to make a people ready for the Lord. God wants to restore this ‘fatherless’ generation to us…. And the fathers must rise up at a time like this to declare God’s goodness and mercy to their next generation!

It was excellent being able to join the Body of Christ at large to pray today from 3-5 p.m. God is bringing back such a delight in prayer and making the process a JOY! Looking forward to this 21-day of fast and prayer because I know that God is going to grant personal and corporate breakthroughs as we dare to press in and seek Him! Yeah Yeah!

Battles Of Victory

2 July

Read Judges 6 about the story of Gideon and found that he had interesting encounters with the angel of the Lord, who allowed him to find favor and win battles. It’s comforting to know that when the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon in verse 12, the angel gave him a summon and said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” He was firstly assured of God’s presence with him and secondly had a specific designation given to him. He obeyed the Lord despite his fears. God honored his honesty and granted him favor, even with his enemies.

As we began the 40 day fast, I want to believe like Gideon that I will see many incredible breakthroughs in my own personal life and in the lives of my ladies. I am praying that we will have a greater revelation of God’s presence and faith to believe that we can determine our destiny as we learn to walk in total submission and obedience to Jesus. Even in engaging in the different battles of our lives, we will come out strong and victorious! Amen!!

God's Blessing And Favor

30 June

I experienced such a tremendous blessing and God’s tangible love tonight when firstly, I received a hearty yummy treat from C because of her recent blessing at work and secondly, I opened my mail box and was pleasantly surprised to receive a $1000 cheque in the mail (from person A whom I so very appreciate). How could I ever thank the Lord for such a provision? When I think about His goodness and love, all I want to do is sit and cry …. Because it makes me just want to serve and love Him more and more. He is our Father who knows what we need before we even utter a word…

I pray that I will be like David who says, “Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless. Blessed is the man who trusts in you.” Ps 84:10-12

Thank you …. Let’s continue to encourage each other as we run this race marked out for us so that we will never be weary of doing good but keeping our spiritual fervor serving the Lord.

My Faithful Provider

28 June

God is indeed MY PROVIDER. I was asking Him specifically for financial provision for my course in September and He provided today through my mum’s ex-colleague. It’s amazing! I really could not imagine my ears when I heard it because I experienced how detailed my God was. This ex-colleague was going away on a holiday and was going to pass 2 tuition kids to me just for a month or two. The amount that I could charge per child was based on a school teacher’s rate and I was so overjoyed! I just received a call from her to say that the kid’s mum was agreeable and that amount that I would receive at the end of the month would be JUST THE RIGHT amount I need for the course. God is really my provider and His word is indeed true!

Today, God spoke to me in Malachi 3 that He is a God who does not change and He will throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that I will not have room enough for it .. if only I would continue to bring my whole tithe into the storehouse that there may be food in His house.

And as I was preparing my heart for the 100k blessing, the Lord reminded me in verse 16 that when I fear the Lord, He hears and remembers it because a scroll is written in His presence concerning those who fear and honor His name… and in that time, He will make a clear distinction between those who are righteous and wicked, and those who serve the Lord and those who do not. I really want my name to be found in His scroll and to be found fearing the Lord - doing what is right and serving the Lord till He comes again!

Praise Be To God Almighty!

A New Beginning

27 June

Today is significant for me as it marks a new chapter in my pilgrim - it is my last day at work …
I have given two good years to the kids and to the department and felt that it was time to make my exit (with no regrets). It has always been my heart’s desire to work and serve the poor and the needy – with kids and their families. I believe that this is part of the faith journey that God has for me - that it was not a coincidence that I had given my youth (literally) to work with the handicap and disabled, and then in these two years, to work with the kids particularly with the delinquent children-at-risk in primary schools.

This journey has made me very conscious about how I live and make my life count for eternity. God reminded me to press on to be faithful, steady, and steadfast till the end of this race.

I want to learn to trust the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding, in all my ways to acknowledge Him, and believe He will direct and make my path straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

My Friend

25 June

I took time this morning to again meditate on what it means to be a friend of God … and I used Ps 71 to help me. It was sweet because the Lord brought me back to my youth days where He taught me precious truths and brought much understanding, knowledge and wisdom to me. That I may be able, to this day, to declare His marvelous works in my life and declare His power to the next generation. Lord, let my mouth be filled with your praise, declaring Your splendor all day long.

A Friend Of God

24 June

Read John 15:14-17 and asked myself what it means to be a friend of God…
1) Need to know what is in God’s heart. Vs 14. Do whatever God commands.
2) Care enough to know what is in God’s heart. Do what matters to God – Obedience. God is our exceedingly great reward!
I want to take more time to meditate and reflect on this truth about God being our friend….

Is Good Reputation Important?

23 June

I was reading 1 Timothy 3 and verse 7 stood out for me .. that we are to have a good reputation with outsiders, so that we will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap. Many a time, we think it is not important to have a good reputation outside the Body of Christ, and think we can get away with our bad attitudes, actions and responses but this is a good reminder for us – to be a good testimony whether you are in or out of the community so that we do not bring the name of Christ to shame or even disgrace ourselves, especially if we have been placed as an overseer.

Persecutions

21 June

Was reading 2 Timothy 3 this morning and the Lord was asking me to look at the life of Paul. In his instruction to Timothy, he charged him to know his teaching, his way of life, his purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, persecutions, suffering that he endured because the Lord delivered him from all of them. Can we look up in times of difficulty and pain? In verse 12, Paul said this, “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and imposter will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” That’s where Scripture comes in for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for good work.

As we look and pray in preparation of the 100k blessing, do not allow our hearts to be distracted by difficulties, temptations and challenges around us. Instead, continue in what we have been learning and develop godly convictions.

Being Godly

20 June

Was reading the book of 2 Timothy and was thinking what kind of instruments we want to be for God’s noble purpose and use. Do we want to be gold, silver, wood or clay? Being godly in this day and age seems like something foreign to do … but God wants to make us holy and useful to our Master and prepare us for His good work especially as we prepare for the 100k blessing and also to disciple our ladies.

In these last days, Paul predicts that there will be terrible times – people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God – having a form of godliness but denying its power. We are to have nothing to do with them! We can use this as a good check-list for ourselves as we ponder and strife to live godly lives with God’s help.

Are We Forgotten?

19 June

I was listening to Ps Eugene’s Sunday message today as I missed it and was very surprised because the Lord spoke to me while I was in the shower this morning about the Butler and the Baker who was in the King’s palace in Joseph’ time. Joseph interpreted their dreams for them and was forgotten, (of course eventually remembered after a long while) …. But God is a covenant-keeping God. He never leaves us nor does He forsake us. We may, many times feel that we are forgotten by God … or has God forgotten His promises to us? But He has not!
In fact, I was reading the whole book of James today, and in Chapter 5:7 ..Therefore, be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. You too, be patient, strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged: behold the Judge is standing right at the door. It’s a timely reminder to pray even in the midst of all our ‘suffering’ and ‘pain’. Thank God for His mercy and grace!

Our Lifestyle

19 June

I read the whole book of Titus as I was inspired by John Bevere to meditate on what godliness meant. The lifestyle that God wants us to have is stated very clear in this book especially for us, Overseers. We ought to be blameless, not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gains… instead, be hospitable, love what is good, be self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. We need to hold on firmly to the message given to us and encourage others by sound doctrine … we will be accountable for what we teach and preach! An awesome responsibility on the part of an overseer. But I count it a privilege and a joy to be able to co-labor with the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
As we prepared to leave Phuket, the Lord reminded me that just like when He allowed Tsunami to hit this land 2 years ago, He can send His wrath and anger on us, in order to discipline us because of His love. We want to be obedient to follow the Lord and love Him with all our hearts, soul and might and serve Him as we prepare for the 100K blessing campaign. Home I come …. Back to reality …. ☺☺

Sick In Bed

18 June

I was a little ill so it was a good time to stay in bed to read and pray … I caught up with much reading as I continued my book ‘Driven for Eternity’. The Lord began to give me further insight into the spiritual realm where John Bevere shared many interesting testimonies of people who had a taste of hell … and it was scary and REAL! That really made me think about how we should present the full gospel to people, not just telling them about blessings but that God is also a God of Justice because at the end of the day, we will have to give a full account of our lives to Him – be it in the area of our family, finances etc. We really want to make our lives count!

Symbols

17 June

Was reading Deuteronomy 11:18 .. about fixing God’s word in our hearts and minds, tying them as symbols on our hands and binding them on our foreheads. Teaching them to our children, talking about them when we sit at home and when we walk along the road, when we lie down and when we get up. Writing them on the doorframes of our houses and our gates so that the days of our children will be many in the land the Lord swore to give to us ….
As I was sharing a room with my cousin and my niece on this holiday, they had an opportunity to watch my daily ‘patterns’ in the last few days. They noticed that I woke up early to read the Bible and pray .. it was a good time for them to also desire to wake up early to read and meditate on God’s word. I was glad that I could be a blessing to them as we had opportunities to share as we talked and walked about the things of God!

Awe Struck

16 June

I was taking time to read the book ‘Driven By Eternity’ by John Bevere and I was so ‘stuck’ to the book and could not let it go because there was an urgency in my heart that God was taking severe steps to make us very aware of eternity and the wrath of God in light of His grace versus us living for temporal and worldly things. In fact, in Deuteronomy 11, there was an incident of how sons of Eliab, the Reubenites were swallowed up when the earth opened its mouth right in the middle of all Israel due to their disobedience. A time is coming when God’s love will be made manifest to us where He will demonstrate His discipline upon His people and make it very severe. Therefore, we ought to love the Lord our God, serve Him with all our heart and soul… be careful that we will not be enticed by worship of any other gods …. Whatever it may be …. Or bow down to them because the Lord’s anger can burn against us and shut up heaven for us. It is indeed a sober warning for us to take heed….

Quality Time

15 June

It was nice spending quality time with family – we went on a tour round Phuket today. I had time to reflect and ponder as I continued to read Deuteronomy 10:12 .. about what the Lord was asking of me .. to fear Him, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord with all my heart and with all my soul and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that He is giving to me for my good …. A good reminder not to be stiff-necked and stubborn to the voice of God.

Holiday

14 June

Was preparing to catch an early flight to Phuket and was meditating on Deuteronomy 9:7 about the golden calf. It was strange because during the trip, when my family and I arrived in Phuket, we noticed that there were many many idol worshippers there. My uncle even heard a small voice saying that that was a city of sin … how sad! The Lord showed me compassion for those who were lost in that land… I had an interesting conversation with my nephew while on the road and he wanted to know why the people did not believe in Jesus and why idols were scary-looking. I had an opportunity to tell him the story of Moses and the golden calf and how we must not take things into our own hands and allow God to speak. Also, to be obedient to what God has to speak to us. More than that, he felt assured that when we have Jesus in our lives, He is greater than our fears. We can place our complete trust in Him!
