Acsah's Anointing

6 July

I had a little insight of the book of Judges when I read Judges 1 about Acsah, Caleb’s daughter asking her father for special requests. Acsah’s name meant ADORNMENT and her life is a walk of praise, encouragement, beauty, intercession and faith. She could rise up to encourage her husband and urged him to ask her father for a blessing or an inheritance. Judges 1:14. She stirred up a faith and courage in him and believed in him to believe God. She also had a keen sense of discernment because the land that she was going to inherit was the South land and the South land is one that is barren. She rose up as a woman of faith and was a discerning woman to cry out for a blessing when all she could see was the barren land ahead.

Acsah is an example of a woman of God – who is powerful and sees her role as an intercessor. She could ask for anything and the father would give to her. Her dream came through when God gave her a godly and anointed man she was married to who loves God and wanted to serve God and he was a man of faith. More than that, her father Caleb, gave her more than she had asked or imagined. He did not just give her the South lands but the upper and lower springs as well. He is indeed a loving and generous father.

This story is a type of God the Father, wanting us to come to Him in intercession to cry out to Him in our times of wilderness and fear. He wants to pour out such an extensive blessing to us that our bellies would be flowing with springs of living water. As we look forward to the 100k blessing, God wants us to cry out to him because He is the BLESSER. He will enable us to go out in the power of the Holy Spirit to be a blessing to the people around us. God is our Resource and like Acsah, in any given opportunity, we can use our mouths to cry out to God for a blessing.

Even when we look ahead in the coming 100k campaign and may not have a clear understanding of the tasks ahead of us, just like the South land that is arid and dry, we know that we can run to God because His Word is faithful, true and unchanging. He is a God who is the same yesterday, today and forever.

As I remembered yesterday’s reading in the prayer booklet about foolishness, God is also allowing us to learn from Acsah to ask God for a spirit of discernment during this 100k campaign that we will not be foolish in our words and ways. Instead, we will ask God for ears to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking to us clearly so that in all that we do, we will delight the heart of God.

Let’s receive the Acsah’s anointing today!
